Rehearsals suspended owing to Covid-19. We will be back!!!
Remembrance Day 2020
Lest We Forget
Please support the Poppy Appeal by donating ( if you are able) what would be this week's band subs of £4 to the British Legion. WCO is proud of its charity work and have been unable to support as usual during Covid. Lets help to make a difference for those who gave their tomorrows that we might have today. Thank you |
Sadly we have had to suspend our rehearsals owing to the Covid 19 virus outbreak. We thank all those in NHS and the Key workers who are working throughout this crisis. To all our players and supporters, keep well, stay at home and we hope to make music together when this is over. Meanwhile keep practising- we will be back together one day.
Welcome to the website of Wirral Community Orchestra. The orchestra began life in January 2014 under the Musical Directorship of John Modelski, and since then the orchestra has grown in number – currently having about 50 members- whilst maintaining its aim of being a "friendly group of musicians with a shared passion for making music".
As a community orchestra, we pride ourselves on being an open admission orchestra. We welcome all players aged 16yrs and above irrespective of their experience, or proficiency. Our members span a wide age range and as musicians include those, who are returning to playing after perhaps playing in their youth , to more experienced players who have enjoy playing in an orchestra for many years and give valuable support and encouragement to other less proficient players. Our repertoire is always varied and challenging with music ranging from light classical music, medleys from musical shows, film themes and popular pieces. We perform several concerts each year and are always willing to support local charity events, please contact us via our website or email us at wirralcommunityorchestra@hotmail.com.
