What a great fun afternoon - despite the torrential rain. The sun was shining at our Celebration Concert. With  Music from Elgar​ and Mozart to Sea Shanties' jazz and popular musicals plus an enthusiastic rendering of God Save the Queen from the audience. 

A memorable concert enjoyed by both players and audience. 

A Christmas Festive Selection:  14th December 2019

What a superb musical celebration from Wirral Community Orchestra plus guests of the Jan Modelski Pop orchestra , and guests.  A selection of popular classics, Christmas Music, jazz and pop music for all to enjoy. 

July 2018: Festival Finale with The Melrose Singers 

On a beautiful evening the orchestra, together with guests of the Melrose Singers and The Sunlight Quartet provided the Festival Finale Concert for the Festival of Firsts Arts celebration 2018. Once again the orchestra played to a full house - indeed only 4 chairs remained -and also featured  songs from our own Tricia McClure plus the amazing talents of young pianist Philip Asante-Siaw and guitarist Rebecca Hendy. December 2017 Christmas Concert at West Kirby URC

An audience of over 100 was entertained with a  fantastic evening of music and song from the orchestra and some amazing talent from our young guests,  pianist Philip Asante-Siaw and  guitarist Rebecca Hendy, together with music from the Sunlight String Quartet, plus a flute duet from two members of the orchestra and songs from our own soloist, Trisha McClure. A big thank you to our photographer Ole Hansen (www.photographyselect.co.uk) for his superb photos and video of our concert.

December 2017 : Roy Castle Lung Cancer Fund Raising in Liverpool

Members of the orchestra braved the wind and cold to bring some Christmas music to the shoppers of Liverpool and help raise funds for this very worthwhile charity.

Summer Concert July 8th 2017

What a super concert. A full house and a very appreciative audience. A big thank you too to our special guests of the Melrose Ladies Choir who brought back some lovely memories with their Songs of Transport, and not forgetting our own soloist, Tricia for her Abba songs - great fun.

WCO Christmas Concert

For our annual Christmas Concert for 2016 we were joined by special guest of the Deeside Singers and  the Sunlight Quartet Players together with our own soloist, Patricia McClure. A great musical evening was enjoyed by all with a variety of music and song and a finale of  audience, choir, orchestra and church organ rendering of O Come All Ye Faithful.

Members of the orchestra braved the cold to play in Liverpool One on Saturday December 3rd helping to raise funds for the Roy Castle Lung Foundation.

Festival of Firsts : Summer Serenade 2016

A superb evening of music and song held at Hoylake Chapel.  WCO together with special guests of The Deeside Singers entertained the audience with music from a wide range including classical, musicals, madrigals and sea shanties.  Tow members of the orchestra Vicky and Sarah, together with the accompanist Sarah delighted the audience with flute duet. The orchestra, under the musical directorship of John Modelski, demonstrated what hard work, dedication and great fun can achieve when musicians of all ages and capabilities play together.

Wirral Community Orchestra celebrated another concert success as part of the Festival of Firsts 2015.  special guests were the Castle Singers of Heswall  and soloist Charlotte Lomax.  A varied program from Bach to Beatles was enjoyed by all.  The concert  was helping to raise funds for Claire House Children's Hospice.

Step into Christmas 2014

The Christmas concert at West Kirby United Reformed Church closed a very successful year for WCO.  The concert included popular Christmas music including the popular Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson and the more classical Mozart Sleigh Ride. The audience, led by our own soloist, joined in the traditional Christmas carols and were rewarded with refreshments and mince pies in the interval.

The Big Event December

Members of the Wirral Community Orchestra welcomed the arrival of the Mayor of Wirral to the  Big Event held at the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton.  The orchestra played a  selection of  Christmas songs and carols, accompanied by our soloist, Tricia,  to open the event which was held as a showcase of a range of health, social care, education and support services available across Wirral with representatives from Wirral Council, Public Health, Wirral Community NHS Trust and the Voluntary Sector coming together.

Wirral Festival of Firsts Concert July 5th 2014

Wirral Community Orchestra took part in the "Wirral Festival of Firsts 2014" , a celebration of music and the arts sponsorted by the Arts Council, England and the National Lottery. Our concert was held at West Kirby United Reformed Church and helped to raise money for our local children's' cancer charity, Claire House.

The "Hear Here Project" July 2013

A concert given by the orchestra with St Anne's Gospel Choir, the Liverpool Voice Choir and a young pianist, Thomas Caddick, from the Birmingham Conservatoire.  The concert raised the sum of £740, which was doubled by Barclays’ Bank. The money raised was used  to help those who have hearing impairments.

Sefton Park Summer's Serenade May 2011

On a lovely summer's day, what could be better than a stroll through the park whilst hearing orchestral music playing?  This concert was part of the Summer festival to raise funds for the Roy Castle lung Cancer Charity.
